How your customers find you
Your customers are searching. Let's make sure they find you.
Nobody finds a website by accident. If your business isn't on the first page of Google for what your customers are searching, you basically don't exist to them. It's that simple — and that brutal.
SEO — Search Engine Optimization — is the work of getting your website onto that first page, so the people already looking for what you sell actually find you instead of your competitor. It's not magic and it's not a trick. It's clean code, the right words on the page, fast load times, and signals that tell Google your site is trustworthy and relevant.
Every paying customer starts somewhere. Online, they usually start with a search. No traffic means no customers, and no customers means no revenue. Eyes on your business come before money in your bank account — every time. That's the entire job of SEO: getting you in front of the people already looking for what you sell.
The part nobody says out loud
The key to a successful product or business is being found by the right people. That's it. That's the secret to wealth that nobody speaks about passionately enough.
A great product dies in the dark if the right people never see it. A mediocre product with great discovery outearns a brilliant product with none. Every time. The businesses winning in your space aren't necessarily better than you — they're better at being found.
I've spent my entire career on the discovery side — across books, e-commerce, software, games. The platform changes. The underlying game doesn't: find the people already looking for what you sell, put your work in front of them, and the money follows.
Why not just any SEO
Most SEO providers run the same playbook on every client. Same checklist, same templated reports, same generic link-building, same “we'll optimize your meta tags” regardless of what you sell, who you sell it to, or what your competitors are doing. That's not SEO — that's a conveyer belt, and it's why so many business owners have been burned by an SEO that didn't move the needle.
I don't do that. Every engagement starts from scratch. I go deep on your business, your market, and your competitors — heavy research, real data, the actual landscape you're fighting in — and then I build you your own original playbook. Not a template. Not last client's strategy with your logo pasted on top. A plan built specifically to win the ground you're standing on.
I become your digital discovery partner. White-glove. Hands-on. The whole point is figuring out exactly what will help you win — not what helped someone in a different industry on a different timeline.
The website you're reading is built to rank and it does. Every page indexes cleanly, every word can be crawled, the technical foundation is solid. Nine live products ship under my name. Three Roblox games are running right now. I don't sell what I don't practice.
01 · What good SEO actually produces
The math, not the pitch.
These are industry averages, not promises. But they're the numbers every SEO contract is measured against, and you should know them before you spend a dollar:
- 75%of people never scroll past the first page of GoogleIf you're not on page one for your money keywords, you're invisible to three out of four searchers.
- 27–32%of all clicks go to the #1 organic resultPosition two gets about 15%. Position ten gets about 2%. Page two gets under 1%.
- 14.6%close rate for SEO leadsOutbound cold leads close at 1.7%. SEO leads convert at roughly 8-10x that rate — because the intent is already there.
- 76%of local searches lead to a visit within a day28% of those searches end in a purchase. Local SEO is the highest-leverage marketing a local business can do.
- 2–10xorganic traffic growth at 12–18 monthsFor sites that ship consistent, intent-targeted content. Depends on niche and starting point, but the range is real.
- $0per click, per impression, per visitorUnlike ads, organic traffic is free once you've earned the ranking. You're not renting attention — you own it.
The honest version: SEO is a long game. Three to six months before real movement, twelve-plus months before the compounding kicks in. But once it kicks in, it's the cheapest source of customers you'll ever have. You're not paying per click. You're not paying per impression. The traffic is free once you've earned the ranking.
02 · How the work fits together
The ladder, explained plainly.
The SEO ladder isn't a sales trick. It's the natural order of the work — each rung earns its way into the next one.
You start with the $750 Audit. I crawl your site, read your Search Console and Analytics, find out what's actually broken, and hand you a prioritized list of what to fix first. You can take that list to anyone — or you can have me implement it.
If you have me implement it, you book the $2,500 Foundation Sprint — and the $750 you already paid comes off the price. The Sprint takes the roadmap and ships it: metadata, structured data, sitemap, redirects, ten pages optimized, all of it.
Once the foundation is solid, you graduate into a retainer— $500/mo for local, $1,500/mo for growth, $3,000/mo for scale. That's where the long-term gains happen: new content, ongoing optimization, monitoring. SEO compounds. A year of consistent work beats a month of intense work, every single time.

04 · If you serve a local market
This matters more than anything else.
Local SEO is its own animal. If you're a plumber in Columbus, a lawyer in Atlanta, a mechanic in Phoenix — your customers aren't searching “best plumbing services nationwide.” They're searching “plumber near me.”
Google responds with a map pack — three local businesses at the top of the page. Getting into that map pack is the highest-leverage SEO work a local business can do. Three businesses get the lion's share of the clicks; everyone else fights over the leftovers.
The tool below scores your local readiness across eight dimensions. Run it honestly. Most local businesses score lower than they think. That gap is the opportunity.
Local-site readiness scorecard
Toggle what your site already has. This is the honest checklist for "best website designers near me" outcomes — design without local plumbing is a brochure.
Not ready — 'near me' traffic will bounce

Local rankings reward consistency, speed, and conversion paths — not just pretty pixels. I design for the full system.
05 · What happens after you buy
What happens after you buy.
The intake is five short sections. Role-based access only — I never ask for passwords, ever. The clearer you are here, the faster the work lands and the better the results.
- 01
Access
Google Search Console (add me as user), GA4 (add as user), your CMS (role-based: WordPress editor/admin, Shopify collaborator, etc.), and Google Business Profile manager for local-tier clients. I never ask for passwords — role-based access only, every time.
- 02
Business
What you sell, your most profitable services or products, your geographic targets, and the top three to five competitors as you see them. Your read on your own market is data I can't get anywhere else.
- 03
History
Past SEO work or agencies you've used, any penalties or migrations, existing rankings worth protecting. Honesty here saves weeks — if the last agency burned the domain, I need to know before I plan around it.
- 04
Workflow
Who approves content and how fast. Topics that require compliance or legal review. Brand voice constraints. The goal is for the work to land in your business without friction — not to ship content you have to rewrite.
- 05
Goals
What a lead is worth to you. What 'working' looks like — calls, form fills, online sales, foot traffic. The tracking install needs a real target to prove the ROI against, or we're just shipping vanity metrics.
06 · The straight answers
Questions, answered straight.
- What is SEO, in plain English?
- SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It's the work of making your website show up when people search Google (or Bing, or DuckDuckGo) for what you sell. If you're a plumber in Columbus and someone searches 'plumber near me,' SEO is what decides whether Google shows them your business or your competitor's. Most of the work is invisible: clean code, the right words on the page, fast load times, and signals that tell Google your site is trustworthy and relevant.
- How does SEO actually make my business money?
- Every paying customer started somewhere — and online, they usually started with a search. If your site ranks well, you get a steady stream of people who are already looking for what you sell, for free, every month. No ad spend, no per-click fees. SEO leads also close at about 14.6%, compared to about 1.7% for cold outbound leads. You're not buying traffic — you're earning it, and once you've earned it, it keeps coming.
- Can you guarantee I'll rank number one on Google?
- No — and you should run from anyone who does. Google's algorithm is owned by a trillion-dollar company and changes constantly. Nobody honest can promise a specific position. What I can promise is the engineering: crawlable pages, valid schema, real measurement, intent-mapped content, a clean technical foundation. Rankings follow from the work. Anyone promising page one in 90 days is selling you weather.
- How long does SEO take to work?
- Honestly: three to six months before you see real movement, twelve-plus months before the compounding really kicks in. SEO is a long game. The first month is foundation work that often shows no visible traffic gain — it's plumbing. By month three, you'll see movement on the easier terms. By month six, the ones that actually drive revenue. By month twelve, you're competing for the hard terms and the traffic is compounding. Sites that quit at month four because they 'didn't see results' lose — the work was about to pay off.
- What is conversion tracking and why does it matter?
- Most tracking code lives in your visitor's browser and gets blocked by ad blockers — which means up to 30% of your visitors (and their purchases) become invisible to your analytics and your ads. Server-side tracking fixes that by sending the data from your server instead of their browser. The result: you see what's actually working, your ad platforms optimize on real data, and you stop making decisions on a broken picture. The $950 Conversion Tracking Install handles this end-to-end.
- Do you work with local businesses or national ones?
- Both — but local is the specialty. Local businesses (plumbers, lawyers, mechanics, dentists, restaurants) are the most underserved buyers in SEO. Most get sold a template site and a prayer. The Local SEO Retainer ($500/mo) is built around them: Google Business Profile optimization, citations across the local ecosystem, review strategy, monthly local landing pages, and rank tracking. If you serve a city or region, this is your lane.
- What happens after I buy?
- You get an onboarding intake with five short sections (see below) and I start with access. The audit delivers in about a week. The Foundation Sprint ships in two to four weeks. Retainers start their first month's deliverables immediately. We don't do long kickoff calls — just the intake, the access, and the work.
- Can I cancel a retainer?
- Yes, month to month. No self-serve cancel button on purpose — I'd rather have the conversation about what's not working so we can fix it. No cancellation fees, no clawbacks, no contracts.
- Why should I trust you when I just found your site?
- Because the site itself is the proof. Open another tab and Google 'interactive websites' or 'website design agency near me.' This site shows up. Every page is server-rendered, every URL is canonical, the structured data validates. I built this site to rank, and it does — so I'm not asking you to trust a service I haven't run on myself.
Pick the door that fits
If you want to see how I think before you spend real money, grab the $49 Loom teardown. If you're ready for the full roadmap, book the $750 audit — it credits into the Foundation Sprint if you continue.
If you just have questions, send a message. I answer every one myself. The full catalog is on /pricing.
